S7 Sd Slot Won't Open

Once you power off Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you can then follow these steps as shown in the following animation: insert the sim card tray injection tool into the hole, press it a bit. Pull out the SIM card tray. Put micro SD card into slot 2. Sim/MicroSD slot not opening on s7 Edge I got a Galaxy s7 Edge about two weeks ago and when I went to put a MicroSD card in it, I noticed the little metal tool will not go in the small hole all the way. If you feel like rolling the dice, you can just follow a disassembly video on youtube and open the phone up and stick a needle in the SIM/SD slot to fish it out. My only concern there would be you possibly breaking any of the pins or plastics inside of that SIM/SD slot, that would require a solder job to put a new one on. Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a microSD card slot included in the SIM card tray, making the 32GB of on-board storage expandable up to an additional 256GB depending on the size of your SD card. This means you probably won’t ever have to worry about your photos, videos, or music taking up too much space on the device.

When inserting an SD card, be sure that your tablet is off first. Then, follow the rest of the steps below.

  1. Prepare the SD card.
  2. Turn off your Galaxy Tab A. This is important. Inserting an SD card while the device is on may result to corrupted data.
  3. With your phone’s screen facing you, remove the card tray. You can use a insertion/removal tool (or a paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot. This small hole should be visible on the left part of your device.
  4. Put the SD card into the tray (gold contacts facing down). The card should fit snugly in the slot. If the metallic contacts are visible to you, or if the card seems to move, you’re not doing it right. Ensure the card fits into place.
  5. Insert the card tray (gold contacts facing down).
  6. Press in on the tray to lock it into place.
  7. That’s it! Turn on your Galaxy Tab A and see if it now detects your SD card.
